Pareo - Sarong in 100% handmade cotton - KARANA. The patterns decorating the sarong are made with handcrafted wooden stamps. A typical and traditional Indian craftsmanship for your ideal summer sarong. This is also a multipurpose accessory, adaptable and easy to wear.

The stamping of the patterns and the production of the wooden stamp are done entirely by hand. Moreover, for multi-colored motifs, the printing process is done once for each color: this means that for a 3-color motif, the fabric is printed 3 times over the entire surface.

Furthermore, this cotton pareo with tribal patterns can also be used as a sarong, which is a large piece of cotton draped around the waist and worn as a skirt by men and women in many parts of Asia.

The fabric is often dyed with bright natural colors, or printed not only with complex patterns depicting animals or plants but also with checks and various geometries and patterns.

Block print: a handmade, repeated gesture

Each sarong and scarf is created through a traditional process in which the design is transferred to the fabric using hand-carved and manually pressed wooden blocks.

The process begins with the preparation of the tools and carved blocks, each designed to leave a part of the pattern on the fabric.

The fabric is prepared and laid out on the workbench: a simple base, ready to receive color, rhythm, and repetition.

The block is then pressed by hand, one step after another. The continuity of the pattern comes from the artisan's eye and experience.

Finally, the fabrics are inspected, dried, and prepared. Small variations are not defects: they tell the authentic character of manual craftsmanship.

Our fabrics are handcrafted from silk or cotton (as specified in the product description).

Each piece is unique and is colored and/or designed with artisanal procedures such as embroidery and hand stamps with hand-engraved stamps.

Thanks to these techniques, each fabric has small imperfections and color variations that make each piece unique and precious . The care and passion we put into the creation of each fabric is reflected in its beauty and quality , guaranteeing a one-of-a-kind artisanal product.

Hand coloring with natural colors requires an initial hand wash in cold water with vinegar or salt to fix the color. Afterwards, washing in the washing machine with similar colored clothes is fine.
