Pareo - Sarong in 100% handmade cotton - MAT. Cotton pareo MAT with tribal patterns. The designs that decorate the pareo are made with handmade wooden stamps. A typical and traditional Indian workmanship for the ideal pareo for your summer. This is also a multi-purpose accessory, adaptable and easy to wear.

The stamping of the patterns and the production of the wooden stamp are done entirely by hand. Also, for multicoloured patterns, the printing process is done once for each colour: this means that for a 3-colour pattern, the fabric is printed 3 times over the entire surface.

Furthermore, this cotton pareo with tribal patterns can also be used as a sarong, which is a large piece of cotton draped around the waist and worn as a skirt by men and women in many parts of Asia.

The fabric is often dyed with bright natural colours, or printed not only with complex patterns depicting animals or plants but also checks and finally with various geometries and patterns.

Block printing: a repeated manual craft gesture

Each pareo and each scarf is created through a traditional process in which the pattern is transferred onto the fabric with hand-carved and manually impressed wooden blocks.

The work begins with the preparation of the tools and carved blocks, each designed to leave a part of the design on the fabric.

The fabric is prepared and laid out on the workbench: a simple base, ready to receive colour, rhythm and repetition.

The block is then hand-pressed, one step after another. The continuity of the pattern comes from the artisan's eye and experience.

Finally, the fabrics are checked, dried and prepared. Small variations are not defects: they tell the authentic character of manual processing.

Our fabrics are handcrafted from silk or cotton (as specified in the product description).

Each piece is unique and is colored and/or designed with artisanal procedures such as embroidery and hand stamps with hand-engraved stamps.

Thanks to these techniques, each fabric has small imperfections and color variations that make each piece unique and precious . The care and passion we put into the creation of each fabric is reflected in its beauty and quality , guaranteeing a one-of-a-kind artisanal product.

Hand coloring with natural colors requires an initial hand wash in cold water with vinegar or salt to fix the color. Afterwards, washing in the washing machine with similar colored clothes is fine.
