The RUDRAKSHA is used a lot in JYOTISH (Vedic Astrology) it removes the negative influences of the planets and promotes spiritual progress. There are 27 constellations Nakshatras each constellation governs one of the nine planets of Vedic astrology. For each nakshatra there is a specific rudra. The immense power of the rudra acts as a conductor and reservoir of energy, furthermore each rudra corresponds to a devi (goddess) or a DEVA (god) who are the tutelary divinities of the person who wears that rudra.
