How do I find the right size for my ring? Ring measurement
Measuring a ring - How do I find the right size?
If you want to buy a ring, for yourself or to give a gift to someone, but you don't know the size, read our guide here.
Below you will find a quick and easy method to find your size.
After you have obtained either the circumference of your finger or the diameter of the ring of the person to whom you are giving it as a gift, consult the table below where we have reported all the measurements with different parameters: Italian size, international size, internal diameter and circumference.

Measuring a ring - How do I find the right size?
If you know a jeweller , a goldsmith or any shop that sells rings, you can ask if they will measure your finger. If you feel embarrassed you can ask what size the ring you are trying on is.
Otherwise you can purchase an adjustable metal band at a hardware store. Adjust it with a screwdriver to the right size . Take a caliper or a ruler and measure the internal diameter of the band (be careful if you use a ruler! Make several measurements , the largest size is the right one).
If you don't have a caliper (the method more precise ) you can use a paper cone that you have prepared. Secure it with some scotch tape and slip it into the band or ring. Mark the internal circumference on the cone with a pencil, open the cone and measure the drawn line.
When you have taken the right measurement, look for the internal circumference in the table and check the corresponding Italian measurement on the left. All Italian sizes are indicated on our website.
Alternative method how to measure
If the methods above do not convince you, there is another homemade but effective possibility. Take a ring that corresponds to the size you need, a credit or playing card (it is important that it is thin and rigid), a ruler and a marker.
1. Insert the credit card into the widest part of the ring (If you don't want to use a credit card click on the image next to it and cut out the measures)
3. Measure the distance from one side to the other with a ruler (be careful! You must measure precisely. One millimeter can change the measurement a lot)
4. Compare your result with the table above (diameter column). In our example they are 20 - 21 mm which corresponds to a measurement of 25 - 26.
