PACO27 cotton BATIK pareo with tribal patterns. The designs decorating the pareo are created using the batik technique. A typical and traditional method for the ideal pareo for your summer. This is also a versatile accessory, adaptable and easy to wear.
Batik is a decorative technique for fabrics known as resist dyeing. The fabrics, preferably white and made of natural animal or plant-based fibers (cotton and linen), are immersed in a dye bath after resisting (that is, covering) the areas that are not to be dyed with wax melted in a water bath and then allowed to cool before dyeing.
The process can be repeated several times, resisting other areas and dyeing with progressively darker colors. For this reason, each pareo is a unique piece and may vary in color and intensity thanks to the handcrafted process.
In addition, this cotton pareo with tribal patterns can also be used as a sarong, namely a wide piece of cotton draped around the waist and worn as a skirt by men and women in many parts of Asia.
The fabric is often dyed with bright natural colors or worked with various geometric shapes and patterns.

1. Wax application
The artisan traces the patterns by hand on the fabric with hot wax, protecting the areas that are to retain their original color.
3. Rinsing and drying
After dyeing, the fabric is rinsed and left to dry in natural light, revealing patterns, shades, and slight handcrafted irregularities.
4. Final inspection
Once dry, the pareo is laid flat, inspected, and finished by hand, checking the uniformity of the color, edges, and overall quality of the fabric.

Hand-dyeing with natural dyes requires an initial hand wash in cold water with vinegar or salt to set the color. After that, it can be machine-washed with similar colors.
